Ingredients:

Red velvet sponge:

  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/4 cup castor sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extracts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp red food color
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp lemon juice/vinegar

Cream cheese frosting:

  • 100 gm cream cheese, room temperature
  • 10 gm unsalted butter, cut into pieces, room temperature
  • 25 gm castor sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
