My partner-in-crime and I have recently set out for our own version of The Big Lap. We’ve done a year or more of solid preparation, planning and research and considered ourselves pretty clued in. Recently, we drove into a caravan park in far north Queensland and were descended upon by a tribe of Grey Nomads as soon as our last awning pole went up. Did you know..? Have you thought about..? As the Dalai Lama says – knowledge is useless unless you can share it with others. Here are our top hacks to make life on the road just that little bit easier.

14. Lock & Lock everything

While we’re on the topic of bugs, if you want to keep your food fresher for longer, use Lock & Lock containers. They are especially designed for on the road travel and are airtight, watertight, bugproof, microwave, freezer safe, dishwasher safe…you get the idea. While a little more pricey than your average tupperware, they will save you coin in the long run and they store really well in the kitchen.
